Going To My First Blogging Event

The idea of going to a blogging event has always kinds of terrified me! Meeting lots of people I don't know in a situation I'm not familiar with just seemed so scary. But when an invitation to Bloggers Fashion Week popped up in my inbox I decided to be brave, take a risk and go along. And I am SO glad that I did! Despite being pretty nervous I had such a lovely day and would definitely go along to another event.
I'm sure for some of you the idea of attending a fun blogging event in London would just be really exciting, but as someone with a little bit of social anxiety it was slightly daunting. I arranged on twitter to meet two other bloggers before the event so I didn't have to go completely by myself, which really made the day much more fun and less stressful. I met the lovely Jordan and Laura, who were both so friendly and have beautiful blogs at Just Jawwie and Laura Ayres which you should definitely check out!
After a quick coffee by the station we headed off to the event. It was both mine and Laura's first time at a blogging event so we weren't really sure what to expect, but luckily Jordan had been to events before so could give us some tips of what to expect. The event was held in this really gorgeous, almost vintage-like studio and was jam packed with exciting brands to chat to.
Although I knew from the email that there would be a 'gifting lounge' with free samples I was not prepared for the level of products I was given! I literally had so many bags I could barely hold them and left feeling so lucky and spoiled! Pretty much every brand I spoke to what was so friendly and welcoming and ready to share their knowledge and products. I mainly chatted to skincare and haircare brands and am so excited to try out the lovely products I was given.
I'm going to do some more thorough reviews of these gorgeous products, as to be honest there's probably too many to cram into one post and I need to try them out first! But here's a quick list of the lovely brands who were there!
Skincare
Amie
SBC Simply Beautiful Collection
Weleda skin food
Monuskin
Bravura London
Haircare
The Curl Company
Paul Mitchell
Make up
Leighton Denny
Nails
Thumbs Up
Sensationail
Candles
Kenneth Turner
One of the highlights was getting the chance to chat to the completely lovely Fiona, who's the founder of skincare brand Amie and just generally one of the nicest people I met on the day. She was so passionate about her products and I can't wait to try them out and review them. Upon seeing my crazy curly hair I was also generously given the entire range of the Curls Company haircare which specialises in anti-frizz and seems like the perfect brand for me.
I also got to try out some of the beautiful Kenneth Turner candles and find out loads more about maintaining skincare routines from SBC and Monuskin. But honestly, all the brands were so lovely and generous, as you can see by the pictures of the products I was given!!
I had such a fun day out and am seriously overwhelmed with the number of products I was kindly given. If, like me, you're also a bit nervous about attending an event like this I'd really recommend just going for it! Everyone I spoke to was so lovely and it was such a nice opportunity to meet some other bloggers, not least because they completely understand the need to take OOTD photos and photograph the same pretty window display about 20 times!
Have you ever been to a blogging event? Or would you like to go to one?

  6. It looks like you had such a great time and talk about a good goodie bag!! That was so generous of them! I never attended an event, but I did get few invitation. The problem is that I live in Lithuania and all the events are mainly focused in UK, especially London. Plane tickets and accommodation is surely expensive for me! But I'm planning to attend at least one event this year even if it involve me booking a flight :)

  9. Sound's like such a great event and like you had the best time! I've never been to an event and I reckon I'd be way too nervous/anxious to go anyway, maybe one day when I have the courage and confidence, then I'd love to go to one x
