Party Make Up Look

I'm definitely no make up expert but I do find applying and experimenting with make up really fun so thought I'd share this fun and easy look! I'm wearing this subtle but sparkly look this New Years Eve but it would work really well for any party or night out. le And lets face it, if you can't go all out on your make up on new years eve when can you?!
Base
To start with I've used my Maybelline Primer, Bourjois CC Cream and Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer with my Real Techniques Expert Face brush to give a natural but balanced base. All of these products are so affordable but also really make a difference, especially the concealer!
Face
I've then used my Real Techniques Blush brush to apply the pretty pink Bourjois blusher in Jasper Rose to the apple of my cheeks and my make up staple Soap and Glory Solar Powder Bronzer all over my face.

A Trip to London: Covent Garden and The Theatre

London is a pretty magical city all year round, but at Christmas its like everything gets amped up, with sparkly lights, Christmas trees everywhere and so many exciting Christmas additions! Despite only living an hours train ride outside of London, whenever I visit I turn into a massive, massive tourist and am nearly always the one taking an excessive amount of photos on my way-too-big camera and stopping in the middle of a crowded street to look at the lights! I do manage to stand on the right side of the escalators though, so maybe I'm not that bad! Now that I've broken up for the Christmas holidays my university friends have suddenly scattered all over the country so London has become a bit of an in-the-middle meeting point, resulting in my best friend from Essex and I having as many London days out as we can!

Winter Pamper Routine

Sometimes we all just need some time out, and on a cold, dark, rainy evening what better way to relax than to unwind with some pampering at home! I love this because its so relaxing, completely on your terms and can cater to any budget, mine definitely changes from the beginning of my student loan to the end of it! This is my current pamper routine, which I usually turn to when dissertation and exam stresses get a bit too much!
Do some yoga. This might seem like a bit of an unlikely start to a pampered night in, but I really enjoy doing a 20 minute yoga video to get a more relaxed frame of mind. My current favourite is Erin Motz on youtube as her videos are so fun, positive, easy to follow and she's so relatable. She also has loads of beginner videos up, so check out her 30-day challenge for free!
Do a face mask. No pamper night would be truly complete without a face mask! I've used Lush's Cup O' Coffee exfoliating face mask (X)This rich and chocolatey gorgeous face mask leaves my skin feeling so smooth and refreshed and for scent and exfoliating this mask is spot on. Its also so, so long lasting and definitely worth the investment as you can get at least 10 uses out of it for £6.75.

5 Things My Instagram Doesn't Tell You

Things on social media can sometimes appear so perfect. With the seemingly endless beautiful pictures depicting amazing things, it can be easy to forget that for most of us Instagram is a highlight reel of our daily lives, usually with a carefully chose angle and filter! Whilst the fun night out for cocktails or trip to London will likely feature it's unlikely that the 4am library panic over an essay would. For me, Instagram is a place to share a love for photography mixed with parts of what I'm doing, and while I don't believe my feed is a lie, it definitely does place a positive (and probably Valencia) filter over my life, and I wouldn't want anyone to think that everything in my life is it as it appears on my lovely little grid! So here are 5 things my Instagram doesn't show!
I constantly panic over graduating university and my grades! Don't get me wrong, I love my subject and feel so, so lucky to be able to study it full time but as it turns out dissertations, coursework and exams are bloody stressful! Add to that the confusion of attempting to figure out what you're going to do for the rest of your life and things definitely aren't as chilled out as my endless flowers, coffee and pretty architecture pictures would appear.
I do a lot of volunteering. It's not always just the negative parts that don't get added to social media, sometimes there are really big parts of our lives that just don't get mentioned. Personally I don't think this is a huge problem, as I think its natural to some parts of your life separate from others. But honestly, whilst I do love shopping and make-up there's a lot of other things I'm passionate about too, you just wouldn't know it from social media.

The Winter Makeup Edit

As a big fan of the natural make up look for day-to-day, mainly because I can't be bothered to get up an extra 10 minutes earlier and do my make up nicely only to sit in the library or a lectures! But after wearing a bit lot more make up on a recent night out I was shocked by just how many new products I've tried recently.. sorry student loan! So here's a mixture of the products I use everyday to some that I'll drop in for a special occasion.
Everyday
Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer (X). Of all of these, this is the one that I wear literally everyday! Considering its massively affordable price I think this is one of the best concealers out there, which is probably why its been absolutely everywhere all year! Its not too heavy or cakey on, but still covers spots and undereye circles fairly well.
Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream (X). I really like this CC cream, its light enough to wear as an everyday base, but is so great at evening out redness and hiding spots and never looks too obvious or thick. However, for me, this is definitely one of those products that I don't find entirely necessary for everyday use, more if I'm going out or having a really bad skin day. Although I do love it when I actually apply it, so if you're looking for a light, good quality colour correcting cream I would definitely recommend this one.

11 Reasons To Be Happy Winter Is Here

So its currently cold enough to need gloves, raining on a daily basis and while we're still surrounded by gorgeous orange and red falling leaves the change from autumn to winter is becoming increasingly clear. I seem to be permanently wrapped up in my fluffy dressing gown worrying about my dissertation, the heating been switched on and its now socially acceptable to play as much Christmas music as possible, a sure sign we've reached winter! I'll admit the cold early morning to uni followed by emerging to near darkness at 4 pm isn't exactly thrilling, but winter can also be amazing! So here are 11 reasons to be happy that, as Jon Snow so wisely states, Winter Is Coming.

5 Underrated Netflix Gems

Like nearly everyone else I was beyond excited to discover all 5 seasons of Pretty Little Liars, the entirety of Gossip Girl, Orange is the New Black and some of the Hunger Games films on Netflix, but there are also some lesser known gems to be found. Here are 5 I'd recommend you check out next time it's raining, you have loads of work to do and the essays just not going to happen!
Reign. This is my current obsession! This popped up as a recommendation for Pretty Little Liars and I somehow ended up watching like half the first season in a week, which wouldn't be that bad if I didn't have a crazy amount of essays and dissertation planning to do at the moment! Set in the time where Mary Queen of Scots was attempting to rule France, this show has the perfect mix of romance, history and drama. It also has some killer wardrobe choices and serious dress envy!

Massive Lush Winter Haul

It is seriously concerning how many haul posts have appeared on my blog recently! But hey, Lush's Christmas and Autumn range are literally everywhere at the moment and evidently I just couldn't resist buying pretty much everything I could hold, to the point that a shop assistant genuinely brought me over a basket! While getting 7 bath bombs is slightly completely ridiculous, they'll probably last me until Christmas. Well I hope they will anyway! So here are some first impressions of all Lush's gorgeous, Christmassy selections!
Rose Jam Bubbleroon (X). This is essentially a huge, pink, glittery bubble macaroon, so really whats not to love?! Promising to turn your water into a gorgeous pink this can be broken in half to get 2 uses, yay! The lovely mix of lemon, rose oil and cocoa and shea butters this bubbleroon not only smells amazing but aims to soften, condition and restore so is the perfect tlc after a long day.
Sparkly Pumpkin Bubble Bar (X). Halloween may have been and gone but its still autumn and therefore completely acceptable to still obsess over anything pumpkin related! As well as being possibly the glitteriest Lush product I've come across and completely adorable, this contains uplifting juniperberry and grapefruit oils to create a fresh, fruity scent.
Cinders (X). This lovely bath bomb is literally just the ultimate cosy night by the fire autumnal treat. With cinnamon and popping candy inside I can't wait to try this one out! It smells amazing and although I've been warned that the colour it turns the water isn't exactly lovely I'm hoping the warm and spicy aroma will make up for it!

Born Pretty Haul

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to be sent some products from the lovely Born Pretty Store to review. I'd never heard of them before and was slightly apprehensive as although their products look gorgeous, they were, so, so affordable that I sort of just assumed that for £2-3 how good could they really be! However I was actually pretty impressed on their arrival! And with the store having literally hundreds of products I'd definitely buy from them again. Here's what I thought of the lovely 3 products I chose!
Phone Case* (X). This is definitely my favourite product of the 3! I've been looking for a new phone case for a while now so this lovely one came just at the right time! Its so pretty and has quite a vintage feel to it as well as fitting perfectly, which anyone else with the tricky iphone 5C will know how rare is! I've been using it ever since it arrived and it is literally ridiculous to me that it only costs 2 US dollars! Like how is that even possible?! I'm definitely going to check out their phone cases when I want one next time and I'm pretty sure they'll soon become my go-to for phone accessories!

5 Amazing Bloggers You Should Be Reading

The main reason I started blogging is because of how much I enjoy reading other people's blogs! I also love reading posts that highlight other people's favourite bloggers, so here is a long overdue post about the blogs I love reading and why you should be reading them too!
For Beauty: Jasmine Talks Beauty
Jasmine's beauty blog is literally the first place I'd look if I want to read anything beauty related as its completely packed with informative, fun posts and seriously impressive photography! Her posts are also so versatile in the products she covers, ranging from high street beauty steals to more high end product reviews. I think you can also just tell that Jasmine is so passionate about her blog and puts so much work into it, and she's also always commenting and reading other people's posts which is so lovely!

For Fashion: The Velvet Black
I LOVE Alice's style so much, its really effortlessly cool and imaginative. She does so many amazing OOTD posts which capture her fun style so well. As with pretty much all these bloggers her photography is also fab with tons of colorful, chic London backdrops to her outfit posts. If you're ever feeling like you want to add some edge to an outfit or just want some fashion ideas literally just scroll through some of her posts and you're bound to find some inspiration!

For Homeware: VVNightingale
Aside from providing amazing reviews of Lush's many products complete with gorgeous high quality pictures, Vicky also posts weeks homeware picks. Usually ranging in price and with at least 6 items her picks are seriously on point, so if you're ever in need of home inspiration her blog should be one of first places you look. I could honestly just read her many homeware picks for hours and gradually narrow it down to a few products to buy! She also did a blog series on blogging for blogger (from the basics of using blogger to some tweaks to make to improve your blog) which I found insanely helpful when I first started blogging and still search for now. You may have to use the search button on the sidebar to find the series but I'd definitely recommend giving it a look if you ever want any blog advice or are considering starting your own blog!

The £5 or Less Skincare Routine

Let face it, buying good skincare on a budget can sometimes be a bit of a challenge! Trying out an expensive skincare product is much riskier than trying out an expensive makeup product as there are just so many different variables that can influence whether your skin agrees with it or not and it can be difficult to work this out prior to buying. Whereas once you've swatched a lipstick or concealer on your hand chances are you can tell roughly whether you're going to love it or hate it! There are so many affordable skincare staples from boots which can seriously rival the higher end selections if chosen carefully, so here are some of the affordable skincare products I just can't imagine not being in my routine.

Review: Benefit Real Cheeky Party

I am a massive Benefit fan (as this previous haul clearly shows) but I have to admit that their gorgeous make up is just a bit out of my student friendly price range. So while I'd love to try every lovely product they have on offer, it's probably just not going to happen any time soon! However whilst browsing for a Birthday present for my sister I stumbled across this gorgeous blush beauty set, which contains an incredible 8 products for just under £30. Yep you read that right, 8 products valuing at £110 if bought individually for just £29.50. Given that the average Benefit blusher or mascara is usually hovering around the £20 mark to get to try out 5 powders, a mascara, a highlighter and an eyeliner for just another £10 is literally amazing! I haven't tried any of products featured before so here are my first impressions and which ones I think are going to become a staple in my makeup routine!

New Look Winter Haul

My student loan is finally here, so I have done the sensible thing and bought way too many new clothes, way too much new make up and made some cupcakes. The one shop I am seriously loving at the moment is New Look! To be honest compared to places like Topshop and Urban Outfitters I've never been a huge New Look fan, but their winter range this year is seriously on point and full of so many gorgeous but affordable items. It also helps that the New Look in Southampton is massive! So before I return to being a skint student who's desperate for payday, here's a not so little haul of my new winter clothes!

Autumn Beauty Essentials

So the leaves are falling in beautiful, vibrant colours, its slightly colder and starbucks' cups have got even cuter meaning only one thing.. Autumn is finally here! As much as I love the bright sunshine summer sometimes brings, I love autumn just as much, if not more! With Halloween, Bonfire Night and the beginning of the run up to Christmas, it's just such a fun few months. One of the great things about the changing seasons is that just slightly tweaking your makeup and accessories can be really fun and exciting without having to spend too much money. So here are some essential (okay maybe not completely essential) products to get now autumns arrived!
Barry M Raspberry Nail Varnish (X). While some people seem to effortlessly match their nail varnish to the current season I've always been the girl wearing black nail polish in August and light blue in December. But I've always loved wearing deep red and gorgeous berry varnish in the run up to Halloween and this Barry M raspberry one is just perfect!
Cocoa Butter Hand Cream (X). As winter approaches I find myself reaching for my hand cream more and more, and I honestly can't recommend this cocoa butter one enough. It smells so gorgeous, is really moisturising and at £1.99 a tube you can't really go wrong!

10 Tips For Having an Amazing Time at University

Its been 3 years since I first ventured off to university and while the details of freshers are seriously hazy  I can remember how I felt at the time so vividly. The classic mix of utterly terrified but crazily excited as it suddenly dawned on me that I was hundreds of miles from home, in an unknown city I'd only visited once and living with complete strangers. But fast forward a few years, and a lot of mistakes, and returning to university now kind of feels like home (big up Southampton!). Here are 10 tips I wish I'd know 3 years ago.
Pick a subject you really enjoy. You're going to be studying this in intense detail for at least the next 3 years and your choice will likely influence your career so it's really important to pick something you are genuinely interested in and think you will enjoy. This is one I definitely learnt the hard way back when I began a law degree in 2012, but switching courses was the best decision I could have made.
Get organised and get a planner, or use the one on your phone! The thing about uni is that not only do you need to remember when your exams, coursework and lectures are, you also need to remember when societies, socials, part time jobs, volunteering days, gym classes, birthdays and student loan days are. For those of us who aren't exactly born organisers having it all written down makes life so much easier, and also massively decreases the chance of missing that important meeting with your tutor because you totally forgot.

A Few Lush Favourites

Lets face it, I'm probably never going to be able to walk past a Lush store without going in and picking up a few a lot of things, so here are my favourites from my latest Lush adventure!
Tea Tree Toner Water. The combination of tea tree, grapefruit and juniperberry waters is brilliant at clearing up my skin and keeping it refreshed. Tea tree keeps away bacteria that can cause spots, while grapefruit and juniperberry are full of vitamins and antisceptic so help keep skin clean and clear. In all honesty I'm yet to find a magical product that completely perfects my skin but this is great for clearing up breakouts and definitely helps with keeping my skin somewhat clear.

How to Travel Amsterdam on £200

The problem with simultaneously constantly wanting to travel and being a fairly broke student is that sadly seeing waterfalls in Thailand, lakes in New Zealand or sunsets by the beautiful beaches of Sri Lanka just isn't going to happen on a termly basis! But just because a student budget isn't going to happily stretch to expensive plane tickets, doesn't mean that travelling to insanely amazing places isn't possible, it just means that picking a slightly nearer location and hunting down hidden bargains is necessary, as well as picking up as many overtime shifts as you can in my case! So here is how to spend 4 days in Amsterdam for under £200 including everything!

The 7 Products I Can't Live Without

I'll be honest, this post was originally going to my top 5 products.. but evidently I'm just not capable of making the ruthless decision between Burt Bees and Daisy Dream! Most of these products I've been using for at least 6 months, so here are the tried and tested 7 products I'd hate to lose!
A lush bath bomb (X). I'm such a lush addict that there's no way I could write an essential beauty list without including at least one of their products! Although I love some of their other products (Snow Fairy I'm looking at you) their bath bombs are the biggest reason I'm so obsessed with Lush! With so many amazing ones to choose from I'm really not that fussy about which one I have, although the one above, Sex Bomb, is particularly amazing with its gorgeous jasmine scent and dissolving rose petals.

A Psychology Placement in The Beautiful Land of Sri Lanka

Having become slightly addicted to exploring this summer I've decided to start a new (and probably very irregular) travel series full of what I've discovered along the way. I was lucky enough to spend 5 weeks working and travelling in Sri Lanka this summer, so Ayebowan (welcome in Sinhala) and here goes!
Whilst in Sri Lanka I completed a 5 week Mental Health and Psychology placement and can honestly say it was one of the best experiences of my life. Monday to Friday I ran creative sessions in special needs centres, psychiatric units and mental health care homes, and also taught English to children and young adults. The charity I volunteered with is extremely ethical and works closely with a national Sri Lankan team to ensure that the projects being worked on can benefit from international volunteers and that the charity not only has no negative effect on the local community but also contributes in a positive, long term way.

My Holy Grail Beauty Brand: Soap and Glory

Given how many amazing brands there are out there I thought I'd start doing some posts about which brands I'm a massive fan of and why! To kick things off here's why I love Soap and Glory along with my top picks of their products, although there's still a lot of their make up I want to try out.. Supercat eyeliner I'm coming for you!
The main draw for me with Soap and Glory is their huge range of make up and skincare products along with their fairly affordable pricetag, well if they have a 3 for 2 offer on and I've racked up some Boots points to spend! Having tried quite a few of their products I've also found them to be a very dependable, consistent brand who use amazing combinations in their skincare products.

The Harry Potter Tag

So I wasn't actually tagged in this and I haven't read it on anyone else's blog recently either, but I can remember reading this before I started blogging and being desperate to do it! So here is my Harry Potter tag!
What is your favourite book?
The Order of the Pheonix. I'm not sure if it was the rebellion, the comedy of Harry and Ron discovering girls or because Fred and George were so heavily featured but I absolutely loved this book! I can remember so clearly reading it in the day it came out when I was 13 and just getting completely lost in the story.
What is your favourite movie?
I'm definitely part of the 'books over the movies' team, but I'd have to say the Goblet of Fire. There were just so many cinematic moments which were beautiful to watch, such as Hermione at the Youle Ball and the entire underwater part of the second task! It also didn't stray too far from the books, well compared to the Deathly Hallows films it didn't!

Daisy Dream and a Benefit Haul

Lets face it, very few people have the willpower necessary to spend 20 minutes trying the samples at the benefit counter and not buy anything. And given my inability to ever leave a Boots store without buying at least one piece of probably not needed make up I evidently do not have the willpower needed! But despite once again spending too much money I'm actually seriously impressed by the Benefit items I bought so thought I'd do a few mini reviews on them as well as dropping in just how much I'm adoring the new perfume I also bought. If there was ever a time for the "I've bought too much" hiding monkey emoticon this would be it!
Dream by Marc Jacobs (X). I'll admit the prettiness of the bottle probably did influence this purchase, look how gorgeous the gold and white flowers are! But I also really love the scent, which is a beautiful mix of jasmine, grapefruit, coconut water, white woods and blue wisteria among other gorgeous ingredients. The result is a floral but fruity scent which instantly feels summery, light and subtle, and for me is the perfect mix.

Current Beauty Favourites

Here are 8 somewhat recent purchases that I am loving at the moment!
The Body Shop blush and highlighter. This is the first blusher I've bought in a really long time as I didn't used to wear blusher on a daily basis. However this gorgeous pink Body Shop one has managed to rapidly convert me to the point of wearing it everyday! The addition of a highlighter makes such a good mix and the colour is so pretty and subtle.
Topshop Necklace. I'm loving gold jewellery at the moment and this necklace is so bold and detailed, but also versatile enough to be added to most outfits.

Review: Lush's Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly

I picked up a tub of Sweetie Pie shower jelly up a few months ago at a Lush store in Budapest after being intrigued (and possibly slightly too excited) by the sample jelly on the side! The best thing about this jelly is that it smells completely gorgeous! With an amazing mix of cherries, coconut and sparkles it has a wonderful fresh, fruity smell and is honestly one of the nicest smelling products I've tried from Lush. Its also very sweet and glittery to look at and is so wobbly!
"If a bar of soap and a bottle of shower gel had a steamy affair, this would be the resulting jelly, baby!" Lush
When the initial excitement of having jelly in shower wore off though, I did find it slightly difficult and time consuming to use as I was constantly dropping parts of the jelly (although to be fair this may be down to me and not the product!). I found it easiest to break off really tiny parts and crush them in my hands before using them, although please let me know if there's a better way.
Overall its a really fun, interesting product which I'm glad I gave a go, and I love that Lush create these unique, quirky products for us to try. Next stop Lush's jelly and ice-cream.. How cool would that be as a product?!
Would I repurchase? I probably wouldn't buy a Lush jelly again as personally I just prefer shower gel. But I would definitely keep an eye out for this scent or one similar to it in another product!
Have any of you tried one of Lush's jellies? What did you think?!
Thanks so much for reading, Georgia xxx

Turquoise Sea Blue Nails

I love this green Topshop nail varnish just for the white speckles, however it is very thin to put on and unfortunately requires way too many layers than I can be bothered with! But I've found that because its so light if its added on top of a different colour it looks great! This is so easy to do and looks like you've put a lot more work into your nails than you actually have. So here is one of my current favourite nail looks!
I've first applied 1 coat of Barry M's lovely turquoise Gelly polish. I adore this colour on its own, but it also makes a great base to add different colours on top.
I've then simply added Topshop's speckled green on top, trying my best to keep the varnish even and put it on the same way as the previous coat. I then added a clear top coat because my nail varnish chips like crazy!
Let me know what you think of this style in the comments! And I'd love to know what your current go to nail colour is!

Thanks so much for reading, Georgia xxx

Topshop and New Look Haul

Having just finished second year I've returned to my home town for the summer, and amazingly my home town has a HUGE Topshop! So after finishing work me and one of my best home friends decided to go for shopping and drinks. As usual I not only spent too much money myself, but was also a bad influence on my friend's spending! Considering we only visited 2 shops (why do the shops close at 7 when I finish work at 5?!) its crazy just how much I managed to buy!
I first saw this bag last September and despite desperately wanting it, didn't buy it because of it's quite hefty price tag (£65 is a bit steep for my student budget!). But receiving quite a few Topshop cards for my birthday along with using my student discount to justify my "investment saving" meant that I very quickly and suddenly decided that I had to have the bag, and I am so happy I bought it! It's great quality and the perfect size for me this summer. I also think its grungy but pretty appearance means it makes a great addition to any outfit - whether that's adding to a leather jacket and boots look, or giving a bit of edge to a cute and summery outfit.

Review: Soap and Glory Hand Food

Personally I've never been a huge fan of hand creams, but I am a massive fan of anything Soap and Glory so when I stumbled across this unopened hand food tube in a charity shop for 69p it was just too good a gem to ignore!
I half expected  this to just be added to the drawers of unused products and unworn clothes I sadly have, but to my surprise I absolutely loved it!! It has a really nice fresh, fruity scent which is noticeable but not overpowering in the slightest! It has a sweet lime and citrus scent which in my opinion is a gorgeous mix. But the main thing that made me love this hand cream is how soft and clean it makes my hands feel. I've really noticed the difference in using it in just a few days, and it doesn't take a large amount of cream to work, meaning it will hopefully last for a while!
Would I repurchase? I don't really tend to re purchase products as I love trying new ones, but I'd definitely consider buying this again, and if it was on offer I absolutely would! I couldn't actually find a link for the sugar lime crush hand food (I guess it must be limited or edition or discontinued) but I did find this gorgeous sounding marshmallow and shea butter scented hand food tube for £2.50, which I can't wait to try out in the future!

Have you tried this hand food? Or are their any other Soap and Glory products you'd recommend? Let me know in the comments!

As ever thank you so much for reading, Georgia xxx

Review: Bourjois Paris Dark Kohl Mascara

I'll admit this mascara was an impulse buy mainly based on how pretty I thought their packaging was! Bourjois Paris products do have seriously beautiful packaging. But as I haven't bought a new mascara in a really long time I couldn't wait to try it out! Because I have very blonde eyelashes mascara always seems to change my face completely, and along with a quality lip balm is definitely my beauty go to!

According to their website the mascara is designed to enhance volume, intensify lashes and coat every lash without leaving any clumps. The mascara wand is quite small and once I got over the change (My previous mascara - Kate Moss for Rimmel - wand was probably twice the size!) I actually really liked the way it coated my lashes. I wouldn't say it massively lengthened my lashes but it wasn't clumpy at all, did make my eyelashes really stand out (maybe because of the dark kohl colour) and unlike other mascara's I've used in the past it doesn't feel heavy to wear. Its also stayed on completely during the day which is always a plus! It came off fairly easily, at least compared to my Kate Moss one which although great in some ways was always a nightmare to take off!
Would I repurchase? I'm not sure yet! Possibly, but with so many new mascaras out there to try I like to keep changing it up and trying new products, especially as I don't change my mascaras as often as I probably should. At £8 its maybe slightly more than I'd usually spend on a mascara, but only by a couple of pounds.

Have you tried the Bourjois Paris volume kohl mascara? Or any of their other products? If so let me know what you think! Or tell me about your favourite mascara at the moment.

Thanks so much for reading, love Georgia xxx

11 Surprises You Encounter in Second Year

So you're no longer a fresher, you've grown up, made it through your first year away from home, and you're essentially a university pro. And then the stack of bricks that is second year arrives. Here are my top 10 surprises that second year brings!
  1. Suddenly everything counts. What do you mean there's no retakes and its worth a third of my degree?
  2. Your love/hate relationship with clubbing reaches a line in the sand. You either go 4 times a week or twice a term, and that's just how it is.
  3. You've moved into a real rented house, so grown up! Oh wait there's a slug in the kitchen. And no one has any idea what a gas metre reading is. And your landlord isn't anywhere near quite as helpful as he first appeared.
  4. Netflix becomes a much too substantial part of your life. I mean why leave your comfy, warm bed when the new season of Pretty Little Liars is out?!.
  5. You begin to wonder whether you've picked the right degree. Maybe because now that it counts you have to actually try, and as it happens spending hours investigating what a phoneme is isn't really your cup of tea.
  6. You join new societies and actually stick with them! They're amazing and you're having so much fun.
  7. Groupwork. On the one hand you're meeting amazing new people you didn't even know were on your course. But on the other you're meeting infuriating new people you didn't even know were on your course, and they have led you to the depths of a 2:2.
  8. The hangovers suddenly kick in. For some reason its no longer possible to make your Wednesday 9am after a Tuesday madness night out. This also applies to a night binge watching OITNB until 4am.
  9. You enter the Library in September, and feel like the responsible, knowledgeable student you always knew you could be. And then suddenly its in the middle of the January exams, you seem to be spending more time at the library than at home, its 3am and all you want is to do is go home and never see an energy drink again.
  10. Your close friends in first year become your all time best friends in second year. Maybe its because you're living together, maybe its because you've been through so much together or maybe you just click.
  11. You make it through your modules, even the disgustingly difficult ones and realise that you actually are passionate about your subject! Or at least love some parts of it!
Second year was a great fun year for me, but it was definitely full of changes and unexpected surprises! How was your second year of Uni? What was your biggest unexpected shock? And if you haven't got to second year yet don't worry, its a fun year and at least there's no dissertation yet!
